A PAINTING WITH A LANDSCAPE IN THE BACKGROUND – the process of disappearing in a changing landscape / Warsaw, 2015-2019
I observe and document the process of paintings disappearing in a changing landscape. I call this process the poetry of disappearance. Metaphorically, it reflects human presence on Earth — sharing space, passing, giving way to what comes next — in symbiosis with the cycles of nature and the Universe. This disappearance of traces left by humans highlights the extraordinary vitality and power of nature, the vastness of the Cosmos, before which — from a greater perspective — we are not a threat. We will leave a thin plastic layer, recorded in the cross-section of the Earth’s crust, as evidence of the Anthropocene — the age of humans.
