“A Quite Man” in the Official Selection of the 41st Warsaw International Film Festival!
Directed by Rafael Lewandowski, the film is competing in the Documentary Competition.
It is an intimate portrait of Romain Zaleski — an industrialist, philanthropist, art collector and multiple world bridge champion, who built France’s fourth-largest fortune in the 1980s, having embarked on his business career at the age of 58.
His complex post-war journey took him through Poland, France and Italy. An astute observer, an outstanding analyst, a formidable strategist and a refined art lover, he lived far from the media spotlight.
A fascinating life story told through beautiful, understated imagery. What moved me most was his intimate relationship with art, his wonder at beauty, and the empathy that allows him to perceive the world in all its complexity.
I had the great pleasure of creating the film’s title sequence, animations and graphic design!
The animations were created using the traditional, old-school technique of hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation. No AI.
