Scientific conference at Wawel Royal Castle | X 2025

20/10/2025

On October 17–18, a scientific conference titled “Contemporary Art in Royal Residences and Museums of Old Art” was held at the Royal Castle on Wawel, organized by the Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow. I had the great pleasure of presenting my doctoral project “The Birth of Colors” as well as the kinetic installation “Cosmos.”

The title of my presentation was:
“Cave as an Archive of the Memory of Origins – Cosmology, Nature and Contemporary Art on the Example of Authorial Projects at the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów and the White Branicki Pavilion of the PAS Museum of the Earth in Warsaw.”

I would like to sincerely thank the Wawel Royal Castle for the invitation to the conference, as well as all speakers for the inspiring and engaging presentations.

The newly opened exhibition at Wawel, “Abakanowicz. No Rules. Tapestries and Abakans at Wawel,” co-organized by the Starmach Gallery and the Marta Magdalena Abakanowicz-Kosmowska and Jan Kosmowski Foundation, is a current testament to how powerful this dialogue between historical and contemporary art can be.

I would also like to recommend the beautiful chairs by Marian Sigmund, which made sitting through two days of the conference an aesthetic experience in itself.
