“The Birth of Colors” – doctoral exhibition at the Wilanów Palace | X-XI 2025

Date: 11/11/2025

Officially — Doctor of Arts!

It’s been a long journey, full of twists and climbs — that’s how I see it now, from the perspective of over three years of work on my doctoral project “The Birth of Colors.”

The first part of the exhibition took place at the Polish Academy of Sciences Museum of the Earth in Warsaw (14 Sept–28 Dec 2023), and the second — during which the public defense was held — at the Orangery of the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace in Wilanów (28 Oct–11 Nov 2025).

According to data from the organizer, the exhibition in the Orangery was viewed by over 5,200 visitors!

The doctoral project “The Birth of Colors” is an introspective artistic journey through the perception of color, followed by a research-based exploration through the history of civilization, the complexities of pigment acquisition, and the symbolism and meanings of colors across different cultural contexts — all in order to better understand one’s own story and connection to archetypal sources.

Looking into this extraordinary mirror of human history through the prism of color and light — a key element in the mechanism of color perception — was for me both a spiritual and physical experience. After all, every color is a wave that reaches us and affects us according to its wavelength. The exception is pink, which does not physically exist and is entirely a creation of our brain.
And what does it mean that something does not exist if we can see it? That opens yet another fascinating path in the attempt to understand the Universe.
