ArtAround Gallery invites you to the Palace on Foksal for the group exhibition “Women’s Day” — a gathering of female artists associated with the gallery on the first anniversary of its founding. The opening will symbolically take place on March 8.
We deliberately chose March 8 — International Women’s Day. We want to speak about femininity: strength, tenderness, agency, and togetherness. Sometimes it is chance that leads us to people we want to be with — those with whom we feel good, understood, and able to create together. This is how this female collective came into being — through relationships, attentiveness, and the conscious choice to be together. – Aga Jarosz and Kinga Szafrankowska, founders of ArtAround Gallery
The two paintings I proposed for this exhibition present femininity in its different dimensions.
The work “Pieces of Art Series. Amanda Lepore” portrays a transgender pop icon. The second piece is “#loveislove” from the series “Love is Love.”
